Sandra Bergeron Inducted into Georgia State University Business Hall of Fame.
Technology industry leader recognized for her commitment to furthering opportunities for women
TraceSecurity congratulates Chairman of the Board Sandra Bergeron on her induction into the J. Mack Robinson College Business Hall of Fame at Georgia State University. The Business Hall of Fame recognizes leaders for both their industry success and their contributions to the community. It is the highest honor the college awards to business leaders. Past winners include Ted Turner, founder of CNN, and former City of Atlanta Mayor and U.N. Ambassador Andrew Young
Bergeron, a graduate of Georgia State University, is one of the best known and best respected female technology leaders in Silicon Valley. In addition to her role as TraceSecurity's Chairman, Bergeron also serves as a Director of ArcSight Inc., Qualys Inc., TriCipher Inc., and is a Venture Adviser to Trident Capital. She sits on the board of advisors for the J. Mack Robinson College of Business. Additionally, Bergeron has testified before Congress on how government and private industry can better prepare for virus attacks, and she served on the Silicon Valley Blue Ribbon Task Force on Aviation Security and Technology.
Bergeron and her husband, Douglas G. Bergeron, Chairman and CEO of VeriFone Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:PAY), recently established the Bergeron Women in Technology Leadership Fund at the J. Mack Robinson College of Business. The $1 million endowment funds full-tuition scholarships and mentorships for five high-potential female students each year. Mrs. Bergeron calls the combination of financial assistance and mentoring crucial to helping women advance in the technology industry.
In addition to Bergeron, the Business Hall of Fame will induct Richard Lenny, Chairman, President and CEO of The Hershey Company; Parker H. "Pete" Petit, Chairman and CEO of Matria Healthcare; and Alexis Scott, Publisher of The Atlanta Daily World. "I am thrilled to be in such excellent company, and I'd like to thank the college for this high honor," said Bergeron.
